This year’s fundraising luncheon took place on the 14th April 2013 at the Aqua sports club on the theme “celebrating culture”. Guests included members of the diplomatic corps, NGOs, bank officials and the general public, all dressed in their different African attire. The main objective of the luncheon was to create awareness of the Clinic’s new mobile ultrasound project for pregnant women known as PREPO (Prenatal Equipment Project Outreach) and to raise funds for the registration of participating women. Guests were treated to lunch, good music, a cultural show and poetry by Mrs. Daphne Pratt. They also had the opportunity to take part in an auction of a cultural basket and a raffle. Our appreciation goes to all those who attended: the MCs Mrs. Margaret Bernard-Jones and Mrs. Niki Spencer-Coker; those who contributed generously to the proceeds of the auction – the Nigerian high commission, Mr. Eki Eccles James, Mrs Joy Samake and Dr Ivan Wyse who went home with the basket full of cultural goodies.
