                                  Annual Sponsored Walk (2009)

One of the highlights of 2009, the Annual Sponsored Walk took place on the morning of Sat.31st October from the Family Kingdom Entertainment Complex.

As usual, our host treated early registrants to a lovely breakfast.
After registering, we donned the ‘Walk for Life’ t-shirts which had been donated to us by the telecommunications giant Comium. 

We set off along Lumley Beach Rd after being put througha few stretching exercises by Mr Motivator , co-ordinator of our ‘No to Obesity’ programme.
The walk was approximately 3-4 miles and refreshments were very welcome thanks to Sierra Leone Bottling Company, Sierra Leone Breweries and Choithram Supermarket.
 

Millie Terri, a consultant with the Ministry of Tourism and founding member of the Pink Charity Fund talked to us briefly on the importance of early detection in the management of breast cancer.

Mr Motivator gave us a pep talk and officially launched the ‘No to Obesity’programme.

A big THANK YOU to all the participants, donors and sponsors and congratulations to the organizing committee. We raised almost Le 15 million which is a big improvement on our 2008 total and we look forward to the continued success of this annual event.
